“American Rust” Season 2 has a premiere date, but at Amazon Prime Video rather than Freevee.
The series was canceled at Showtime after one season in January 2022, only for Freevee — then Amazon’s only ad-supported TV offering — to pick it up for Season 2 in June. Now, Prime Video will release the 10-episode second season on March 28.
The move further calls into question the future of Freevee now that Prime Video has launched its own ad supported tier. It was previously announced that “Leverage: Redemption” would be moving from Freevee to Prime Video for its third season, while a “Bosch” spinoff about cold case detective Renée Ballard is also set up at Prime Video despite “Bosch: Legacy” airing on Freevee.
