Nollywood actors were present on Wednesday at the premises of the Appeal Court to witness the judgement of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal. Naija News understands that the tribunal is currently delivering judgment on the election petitions challenging the election of President Bola Tinubu by the presidential candidates for the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, and Labour Party’s Peter Obi. Recall that candidates of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar are challenging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the court for declaring the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Bola Ahmed Tinubu  as the winner of the February 25th presidential election.

Governor Hope Uzodinma has disclosed why he met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday. Speaking with State House correspondents, the Imo governor, who is seeking reelection, stated that south-east leaders are planning to meet with President Tinubu to discuss the lingering insecurity in the region. Naija News reports that the South-East region has been faced with unprecedented violent attacks amid the constant sit-at-home orders issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

A Political economist, Pat Utomi, has revealed a plan by some opposition leaders to come together and form a new mega party ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Utomi revealed that he held conversations with the presidential candidates of the Labour Party (LP), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, respectively, about the possible merger. Speaking during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Utomi said the mega party will challenge and possibly displace the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
